About ECMG technology
The ECMG suite of tools is based on standards-based XML technology. Our Content Transformation Services (CTS) model allows you to migrate and exchange information across disparate content management systems.
How it works
The ECMG Content Transformation Services (CTS) solution exports to and imports from a common format known as a content definition file (CDF). The CDF file is XML based and is the link between all systems in the CTS framework. The CDF file contains all of the metadata and has links to the locations of the actual content files.
When planning data migration and exchange, the largest challenge is the different taxonomies and classification systems used by the organizations involved in the content transactions.
The strength of the CTS system is that you can:
Export content and save it to a CDF file.
Transform the document metadata.
Take the CDF file and recreate the document to import it into the target system.
Validations are defined using Content Validation Files (CVF). CVF files are XML-based files containing a series of validation tests.
